SAP Trainees Success at SkillBuild

9 July, 2012

pitched roofing courseSpecialist Apprenticeship Trainees, Sam and Dave, nearing completion of the 18 month pitched roofing skills training, were entered into this year’s Skillbuild Event and took part in local heats in May.

Congratulations are in order to Dave who reached the finals, due to be held in September!

Alan Lander, trainer, said that the lads, from NFRC members DFR Roofing and Anchorage Roofing, have been a joy to teach, full of enthusiasm and keen to learn. Competitions like Skillbuild are not just good for showcasing the industry but also good for moral, giving students a sense of worth.

RoofTrain’s roof training centre is a really lovely place to learn and Alan is a superb teacher — very approachable and will help you with anything.

The roofing centre is a great working environment. It’s always clean and tidy and I was very lucky to learn at RoofTrain.

I found all aspects of the roof training very helpful. Completing this course has given me the know how and the confidence to do all aspects of slating and tiling as well as the ability to work out any complicated roofing details.

I really enjoyed the course. It was well informed and the information has been easy to put into practice.

The Specialist Apprenticeship Programme (SAP) is fully funded through ConstructionSkills for eligible employers. Delegates receive training, knowledge and full understanding of:
